Under the supervision of an experienced and licensed attorney, the LCE intern will be exposed to and participate in various legal functions related to law practice in an elder law setting for low-income older persons. Interns will complete the internship, gaining client interaction skills, subject area knowledge, and supervised experience in individual client representation and systemic advocacy. Students interested in issues related to landlord-tenant, economic security, healthcare benefits, long-term care services, homeownership preservation, combatting fraud and financial abuse, and identifying solutions to systemic problems should apply. The General Counsel (GC) will serve as a member of the executive leadership team and a strategic partner to the CEO and the Board of Directors. This position reports to the CEO. This position will oversee the global legal functions within Mirum. Responsibilities will span a wide range of duties ensuring that the company operates in accordance with all legal requirements. The focus will be to oversee and direct general corporate legal matters, securities compliance, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, license agreements, labor and employment matters, data governance and strategy, privacy incident management and response, artificial intelligence governance and ethics, and cybersecurity matters.

The General Counsel will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to GCM and GCMTC relating to these registrations. The Senior Lead Counsel – Health & Wellness Legal -- Pharmacy role is for guiding business partners with respect to legal issues including: pharmacy operations and billing; pharmacy board issues; and contract issues. This role oversees negotiating complex agreements such as: pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) agreements, merchandising and wholesaler agreements for the purchase of pharmaceuticals, and 340b agreements. You will also help pharmacists and the business understand and comply with applicable regulations as well as navigate ambiguity and uncertainty. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to mitigate legal and business risk, providing legal advice and counsel to business clients and compliance. You will also retain, manage, and collaborate with outside counsel when necessary.
