Legal, GSAM Attorney, Vice President

Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) is looking for an attorney preferably with fund formation experience although such experience is not a prerequisite. The role will focus on the firm's alternatives funds business across different business units and will be on the GSAM legal team. The role involves acting as a key attorney with responsibility for a range of work but with a particular focus on advising on the regulation, establishment, management, governance and marketing of alternative investment funds, which invest in securities in both private and public markets (equity and debt as well as other asset classes), credit, real estate and infrastructure and which are established in major funds domiciles globally. The attorney will also support various portfolio management teams on executing transactions for its investment funds and related accounts. Primary responsibilities may also involve identification of legal and reputational risks, managing external counsel and participation on investment and related committees. The GSAM legal team provides ongoing support with respect to other advisory, regulatory and asset management issues as well. Given the fundamental developments in regulations globally applicable to the firm's businesses and the markets that it operates, a key component of the role will also include contributing to the analysis of, and formulation of strategic responses to, shifting legal and regulatory frameworks.
