Position Summary
The American Museum of Natural History (the Museum or AMNH), one of the world’s preeminent scientific and cultural institutions, seeks a proactive, collaborative, and process-driven leader to be its inaugural Director of Compliance (or the Director). The Director is tasked with driving institution-wide compliance initiatives and implementing strategies with the goals of meeting ongoing and evolving regulatory compliance obligations and supporting operational efficiency and effectiveness. Reporting to the Senior Vice President and General Counsel, the Director of Compliance will provide leadership, direction, and oversight on all aspects of compliance, collaborating closely with Museum leadership. The Director will be expected to develop an institution-wide compliance program, working closely with internal stakeholders and assessing areas of compliance and risk in order to achieve and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and internal institutional policies.
