The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance in Washington, DC is seeking to hire entry level and expert candidates interested in supporting the Commission’s mission to protect investors, maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation. The Division of Corporation Finance seeks to ensure that investors are provided with material information in order to make informed investment decisions, both when a company initially offers its securities to the public and on an ongoing basis as it continues to give information to the marketplace. Attorneys and Law Clerks in the Division of Corporation Finance selectively review filings made under the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to monitor and enhance compliance with the applicable disclosure requirements. Division staff concentrates its resources on critical disclosures that appear to conflict with Commission rules or applicable accounting standards and on disclosure that appears to be materially deficient in explanation or clarity.
